CREATE WORDS FEATURE
Create your own Spelling words to use with ABC Kid Genius Spelling
and Flash Words.
Create words using your own pictures, your voice and your video
clips.
Requirements to create your own words.
PICTURES
Digital Pictures - your pictures saved to be 320x240 pixels in
size and in a JPG, GIF or BMP image formats.
(eg. happy.jpg or flower.gif or girl.bmp)
Sound Recording of Word.
A microphone (mic) input on your computer.
A microphone so you can Record yourself saying the word.
Recording must be saved in WAV sound file format. (eg. happy.wav
or flower.wav)
Windows has a Sound Recorder. It is normally located in start menu
/ programs / accessories.
VIDEO for WORD
The video should be saved in a 320x240 size in AVI or MPG video
format which is suitable for your
Windows Media Player. (eg. happy.avi or flower.mpg)
To save space on your computer we recommend you use no more than
10 seconds of video clip for each word.
When a word is created your original files are NOT moved or
deleted from their original source.
New files are created in the ABC Kid Genius directory for each
word you create.
Always Make sure you have enough free hard disk space before
creating words.
Words can be deleted in the spelling area of the ABC Kid Genius
software.

There are 5 stages to create a word.
1) Choose Database 2) Add picture 3) Add sound of word (4) Add
video for word. (5) type in word.
Follow instruction on the screen for each of the 5 stages and add
files as required for the word.
ABC Kid Genius supplies only 1 template to practice creating your
own words.
In stage 5 you will be required to enter the spelling of the word.
Each word you enter can be 2 to 12 letters long with no spaces in
the middle.
Type in the word required in the box and click on Create button or
Retype button if you
have made a mistake.
2 boxes will pop up to confirm creation YES and NO. click on yes
to create. The word is created
and the screen changes to the main menu. Go to Spelling to test
the word.
